Pakistan Test Ranking gets a surprise boost by ICC

DUBAI: Pakistan Test Cricket Team new ranking has been revealed by the International Cricket Council after the latest series between New Zealand and South Africa.

Pakistan Test team moved one place up in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Test team ranking after South Africa-New Zealand draw.

In their third five-day match at Hamilton, New Zealand were left frustrated after rain washed out the last day’s play of against South Africa, giving the Proteas a 1-0 series victory.

South Africa (109), who gained two ranking points from the draw, jumped up to the second position in the ranking while New Zealand were slipped down, under Pakistan, on the sixth position.

Resultantly, Pakistan Test team improved the ranking and secured fifth spot.

India is still on the top, retaining the ICC Test Championship mace. They also won a cash award of USD one million for holding on to the top position in the Test Team rankings.
