Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to enhance collaboration in health sector

LAHORE: A delegation of Al-Fanar Group of Saudi Arabia on Friday called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and agreed upon enhancing partnership between the Punjab government and Saudi Arabian group in the healthcare sector.
The Saudi group expressed willingness on setting up of a modern 500-bed hospital in Lahore under public-private partnership. Wasim Al Malouhi of Saudi Group who called on the chief minister said Pakistan's economy had considerably improved during the tenure of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said his group was making investment in Punjab due to improving situation of Pakistan.
He said all-out cooperation would be extended in the project of setting up of 500-bed hospital in Lahore and the project will be completed in accordance with the vision of Shehbaz Sharif. He said training facility would also be provided to the staff associated with the medical sector.
Talking to Saudi delegation, the chief minister said provision of free quality medical facilities to the poor was our top priority and steps were being taken speedily for the improvement of healthcare system.
He said all-out cooperation will be sought from everywhere for service to ailing humanity. Issuing directions to concerned authorities, Shehbaz Sharif said all necessary matters should be finalized soon for the establishment of the hospital.
The delegation was led by Wasim Al Malouhi of Al-Fanar Group of Saudi Arabia.
Provincial Ministers Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Kh Salman Rafique, Kh Imran Nazir, Additional Chief Secretary, secretaries of concerned departments, medical experts and senior officials were also present. (APP)
