Pakistan Railways train fares reduced

Pakistan Railways has reduced the fares of 23 trains by 10-21 percent, said the spokesman.

The new fares will be applicable from March 15, 2017.

The fare of Green Line from Lahore to Rawalpindi has been reduced from Rs 1,510 to Rs 1,200.

The proposal to increase the fares of Pakistan Express has been postponed until April 25. The fares of Tezgam, Khyber Mail, Awam Express and Jaffar Express have equalized with the fares of the rail car.

Meanwhile, the fares of 11 trains have been increased from five to 10 percent. The 10 percent increase will benefit passengers from Quetta, Chaman, Hyderabad, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Islamabad, Sargodha, Shorkot, Sialkot, Narowal-Lahore, Mari Indus-Attock City and Sargodha-Multan.

However, there will be a five percent increase in the fares of Khyber Mail, Allama Iqbal and Awam Express.
