Pakistan Railways revenue increases by Rs. 18 billion in 3 years: Report

Pakistan Railways has registered a growth in revenue of over eighteen billion rupees in three years.
According to officials of Railway, the revenue has increased to over thirty six billion rupees in last year as against over eighteen billion in year 2012-13.
Highlighting steps taken by the government to reduce deficit of the department, he said passenger sector earned twenty billion registering a growth of over seven billion in three years.
Similarly, the freight sector earned over ten billion rupees registering a growth of over eight billion.
Pakistan Railway has also introduced high capacity and high speed Hopper wagons for swift movement of coal and up-gradation of existing track on main corridor (ML-1) is being conducted under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
