Pakistan helped Sri Lanka in time of civil war: President Sri Lanka Cricket

LAHORE - Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi says Emerging Players Asia Cup 2018 will be held in Pakistan in April next year.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Sunday, he said Sri Lanka's tour of Pakistan is beginning of a new era of international cricket in Pakistan.

Najam Sethi said a meeting of Asian Cricket Council's Development Committee was held in Lahore today, which will give a positive message to other cricketing nations.

He said today is a historic day for cricket in Pakistan. He thanked Sri Lankan Cricket Board and players for their cooperation in restoring international cricket in Pakistan.

Speaking on this occasion, President Sri Lanka Cricket Thilanga Sumathipala said Sri Lanka stands with Pakistan for restoration of international cricket.

He said Sri Lankans are happy to be in Lahore to support good cricket.

Sumathipala said Pakistan is a big cricket-playing country, which can't be ignored.

He said Pakistan extended support to Sri Lanka during the times of unrest.
