Pakistan hands over prisoners list to India

ISLAMABAD: In accordance with the Consular Access Agreement between the two countries, Pakistan handed over a list of prisoners to India.

According to a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Pakistani government handed over a list of 546 Indian prisoners (52 civil + 494 fishermen) in Pakistan, to the High Commission of India in Islamabad.

Both countries have signed the Consular Access Agreement with each other on 21 May 2008, according to which they are subject to sharing prisoners’ list in each other’s countries twice a year. One on January 1 and the other on July 1.
