Pakistan France sign MoU on bilateral scientific cooperation

Pakistan and France have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen bilateral scientific cooperation in meteorology.   

The agreement was signed by Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin-ul-Haque and Chief Executive Officer of Meteo France Jean-Marc Lacave in Paris today.

Under the agreement, both the countries will work together to bring improvement in Pakistan’s weather forecasting system, develop capacities in the field of early warning and weather services for the protection of human life, property and the environment.    

France will also provide 165 million Euros to finance energy projects in Pakistan.

These projects include Power Transmission Enhancement Investment Tranche-IV and Mangla Power Plant Rehabilitation Project.

Agreements to this effect were signed in Islamabad today, which were witnessed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Under the agreements, French Agency for Development will provide the funding for the development of Pakistan.
