Pak Army 111 Brigade takes over Red Zone Islamabad 
ISLAMABAD: Thousands of people staged protest after the Chehlum of Mumtaz Qadri and reached before Parliament House chanting slogans against government. Dozens of protestor’s sustained injuries due to shelling of police while as many as 23 policemen including CPO Rawalpindi, SP, FC Commandant and 7 journalists injured in clashes with demonstrators.

 

As per details, Pak Army was called to control the law and order situation of the federal capital after that Pak Army 111 Brigade reached at Parliament House and took over Red Zone Islamabad.

 

The security of Red Zone and Parliament House has been taken by Pak Army contingent after that demonstrators have started to disperse.

 

Two containers were put on fire by protestors when they entered in D Chowk while demonstrators also ransacked in metro stations and broke the windows of stations. Police hit the protestors with teargas shells while demonstrators threw stones on police in response of shells.

 

The participants of the demonstration staged sit-in protest before gate of Parliament House while high alert was issued in PIMS and Poly Clinic Hospitals due to strained situations.

 

It is also worthy to mention here that a procession was organized by religious parties in Liaqat Bagh on the occasion of Chehlum of Mumtaz Qadri who was hanged to death over the allegation of murder of former governor Salman Taseer.
