OIC Summit pledges support for Muslim Countries issues 

ANKARA: OIC Summit pledged support for Muslim Countries issues all over the world.

 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani during preparatory meeting and discussed the various issues of Muslim Countries.

 

Meanwhile, a draft resolution was also presented by the Foreign Ministers of member states that include OIC Programme of Action 2016-2025 that include cooperation in 18 priority areas including internal and external conflicts of Muslim nations.

 

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said “If we divide this communiqué in three parts then the first relates to internal conflicts of the Muslim nations, Islamphobia and terrorism while the second group deals with the problems like Palestine, Kashmir, Karabakh, Syria, Yemen and other such situations. The third group of recommendations in the communiqué deals with promoting culture, educational, technological and scientific cooperation among the member states.”

 

Turkish President also met with his Kazakh counterpart and discussed the ongoing conflicts and urged OIC Countries to create mutual cooperation and solve the problems with a mechanism.

 

“We call on OIC member states to support Islamic convergence and consider it as a new political platform for the Islamic community,” the joint statement said.
