North Korea prepares to launch strike on US Pacific base

North Korea says it will be ready by mid-of this month to fire four missiles near the US territory of Guam.

State media said Hwasong-12 rockets would pass over Japan and land in the sea about thirty kilometres from Guam, if the plan was approved by Kim Jong-un.

Warnings of "fire and fury" from Donald Trump were denounced, and the US leader was described as bereft of reason.

Meanwhile, South Korea's military says North Korea's recent statements regarding striking U.S. territory of Guam are a challenge against Seoul and U.S.-South Korea alliance.

Joint Chiefs of Staff spokesman Roh Jae-cheon told a media briefing that South Korea was prepared to act immediately against any North Korean provocation, although the military had not spotted any unusual action in North indicating
