Nine Police Officers martyred in Lahore Blast

Twenty six people including nine police officers were martyred and several others injured in bomb explosion near Kot Lakhpat Sabzi Mandi adjacent to Arfa Kareem IT Tower in Lahore on Monday.
Spokesman of the Punjab Government Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that the security of the entire city has been beefed up after the explosion.
He said that several vehicles and motorcycles were damaged as result of the explosion.
Rescue 1122 spokesman said that the injured were shifted to Lahore General Hospital.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in Lahore blast on Monday.
In their separate statements, they commiserated with bereaved families and directed the authorities concerned to provide best medical facilities to the injured.
They said such coward acts cannot deter our resolve to eliminate terrorism and extremism from the country.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed troops to take immediate part in rescue and relief efforts in Lahore blast.
DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor, in a tweet message said that troops have reached at the site.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, he said he convened the news conference to discuss political situation in the country, but after the sad incident of Lahore, it deems inappropriate to focus on other issues.
