National Assembly session adjourned after scuffle by opposition

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbassi on Friday prorogued the 41st session of National Assembly and adjourned it sine die after the rumpus created by the Opposition lawmakers in the lower house parliament.
After the recitation of Holy Quran, the proceedings of National Assembly started and the Chair asked to take up the question hour business as per routine but the Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Shah took the floor and spoke about the verdict of apex court about panama papers case.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed asked to move a motion as per rules to suspend the question hour but Opposition's uproar did not allow him to table the motion.
The Opposition Lawmakers gathered around the dais of the Chair, hampering to take the routine business. Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said that apex court in its verdict has directed to constitute Joint Investigation Team (JIT) which is being termed by the Opposition leader as `drama'.
Opposition should have one viewpoint on the decision of Supreme Court and it should remember that Prime Minister has the mandate of 200 million people, he added.
Sheikh Aftab said that Opposition, making uproar in the House has been defeated in by-election at Chakwal on April 18, 2017 and it should respect the mandate given to Prime Minister by people of Pakistan.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs Barjees Tahir said that Opposition Leader spoke in National Assembly in previous sittings but he did not listen to others.
Following the protest and pandemonium of Opposition, the Chair announced to prorogued the session (APP)
