Najam Sethi spent millions on foreign tours to convince foreign teams

LAHORE:  Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) executive committee chief Najam Sethi and PCB chairman Shahryar Khan along with other officials have spent millions of rupees on international tours.

The facts were revealed in a report that was submitted in National Assembly (NA) of Pakistan by Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination.

According to details, PCB officials in previous three years made foreign trips to England, India, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sri Lanka and other countries in order to bring cricket back to Pakistan, but the stadiums are still desolated despite the expensive tours.

As per details, Najam Sethi costed PCB Rs 1.02 crore in 27 trips and also took 5.5 million rupees in the name of daily allowance.

Shahryar Khan went abroad 11 times and spent Rs 5.5 million. PCB chief operating officer (COO) Subhan Ahmad made 32 international tours and total cost of his visits remained Rs 8.7 million.

Moreover, PCB general manager international cricket operations Usman Wahla and sr. general manager operations (logistics) Asad Mustafa spent Rs 1.03 crore each. Usman Wahla went on 23 foreign trips.

PCB also sent the members of governing body to Australia and New Zealand as reward of their adulation which cost Rs 7.1 million. As per details, Mansoor Ali Khan spent 13.72, Shakeel Sheikh 7.92, Ijaz Farooqi 4.74, Ijaz Chaudhary 17.30, Yousuf Khokhar 17.48 and Gul Zada 5.65 lac rupees on foreign trips.
