NAB Monitoring and Evaluation System analysed

ISLAMABAD (APP): Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Friday said, being an important tool to track progress, Monitoring and Evaluation System facilitates the Bureau in decision making and establishes links between past, present and future actions.

He was chairing a meeting held here to review progress on MES.

Advisor to Chairman on MES gave a presentation on working and its efficacy in future.

The meeting was informed that MES caters needs of all concerned and has salient features including maintenance of data at each stage including complaint entry, complaint verification, inquiry, investigation, prosecution stage and record preservation of Regional Board Meetings and Executive Board Meetings including case brief, decisions made and list of participants attended the meeting with time & date and ability to analyze data in qualitative and quantitative form having warnings and alarms system for violators.

On the occasion, Chairman NAB said the purpose of MES is to track implementation and outputs systematically, and measure effectiveness of programmes which help determine exactly when a programme is on track and when changes may be needed.

He said MES forms the basis for modification of interventions and assessing the quality of activities being conducted.

The Chairman said MES is very important in order to have measurable impact on expected outcomes and have been implemented effectively.

He said that MES would help in identifying the most valuable and efficient use of resources. It is critical for developing objective conclusions. The MES provides necessary data to guide strategic planning and helps improving performance and achieving results to improve current and future management of outputs, outcomes and impact.

He said MES is an important management tool to track progress and it facilitates in decision making as well as establishes links between the past, present and future actions.

The Chairman directed all concerned for further coordinate and decisions taken should be implemented in letter and spirit in order to further improvement in institutionalizing the support and supervision at different levels of management in NAB.

Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said NAB was committed to performing its national duty with absolute professionalism, transparently and on merit for a corruption free Pakistan.

He directed all Regional Bureaus of NAB to conduct complaint verification, inquiries and investigation as per laid down laws/SOPs.
