MANUU students union condemns civilians killing in IOK

ISLAMABAD: The Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Students' Union, based in Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana has condemned the killing of nine innocent civilians by the forces in Kashmir.

The President of MANUU Students Union, Tajamul Islam in a media interview also condemned the assault on the students of Government Degree College, Pulwama, in which more than 50 students were injured, KMS reported.

He deplored that the brutal repression in Kashmir had left no stone unturned to infuse terror among the common masses.

The gross negligence of the authorities to address the Kashmir dispute and the utter failure of PDP-BJP regime to engage and connect with the people of the Valley has led to the deepening of the crisis, he added.

He said the usage of pellet guns, shooting people from point blank range and using civilians as human shields to be paraded from village to village are examples of unchecked state-sponsored violence that has already cost tens of thousands of lives.

The repeated failure to address, acknowledge and resolve the Kashmir dispute has always led to massive uprisings in the Valley resulting in months of siege and brutal repression by the authorities, he maintained.

The MANNU President urged India to engage with all the stakeholders of Kashmir for a peaceful solution to the long- pending issue. (APP)
