LONDON: London Authorities start investigations against MQM Charity "SUN"

London Authorities started investigation against MQM’s Charity the Society for the Unwell and Needy (SUN) in wake of money laundering.

Scotland Yard investigators claimed that they have severe concerns about those who transferred funds from Pakistan and UK in the institution’s account.

Britain’s The Sun newspaper claimed that MQM’s charity institution has received an amount of 200k Euros from a terrorist organization.

Sources claimed that SUN charity is involved in dubious payments and turn black money into white in the name of charity.

Charity Commission’s spokesman said “The Charity Commission has serious regulatory concerns in relation to the charity, and the case is open which has actively engaged its trustees. The commission is aware of the charity having received as a loan from MQM as declared in accounts. As the case is ongoing we are unable to comment further.”

MQM had faced same cases earlier, out of which three cases were dropped after investigation of two years.

It is also claimed that Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) department will also investigate the case along with Scotland Yard officers.

MQM spokesperson claimed that they have sent a legal notice to SUN newspaper to remove the material from its website.
