LHC rejects petition over Panama Papers

LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has Friday rejected the intra-court appeal seeking accountability of all 300 people named in the Panama Papers.

A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Ayesha A Malik announced the judgment.

The petition was filed by citizen Syed Muhammad Illyas and made the Prime Minister of Pakistan, National Assembly Speaker and Chief Election Commissioner parties in the plea.

The petitioner had contended that more than 300 people were named in the Panama Papers but only the Sharif family was held accountable.
