Lawyers boycott courts country wide demanding PM Nawaz Sharif resignation

LAHORE: Pakistan Bar Council has kicked off its campaign against the ruling family by boycotting the court proceedings.

Lawyers are boycotting the courts on Wednesday on countrywide call given by Pakistan Bar Council demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down immediately.

Addressing a press conference Tuesday, PBC Vice Chairman Ahsan Bhoon said that the final report submitted by Joint Investigation Team’s report abundantly proved that Nawaz Sharif and his family were guilty of corruption; hence, he lost the legal justification and moral authority to continue as Prime Minister.

The PBC office-bearer also sought the resignation of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and MNA captain (r) Muhammad Safdar.

Supreme Court should take the Panama case to its logical conclusion, he added with a request to the apex court to take action against government ministers for using derogatory and threatening language against JIT members and SC judges.
