JI threatens to quit KP government

DIR LOWER: (APP) The Jamaat Islami, a ruling coalition partner with PTI in KP government today threatened to quit the provincial government if it shelved the project of the construction of Timergara Medical College in Dir Lower District.

The JI would part ways from the PTI led KP Government if any attempt was made to abandon the project of Medical College, said the JI MPA Aizazul Mulk Afkari at a press conference he addressed here on Friday.

The JI MPA recalled that Imran Khan along with KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Provincial Finance Minister Muzzaffar Said Advocate had inaugurated the proposed building allocated for the establishment of Medical College in Timergara in 2015.

The project is lying in cold storage since then despite the fact that the JI MPAs held scores of meetings with the Chief Minister in this respect but no progress made till date.

He alleged that the provincial bureaucracy was creating unnecessary hurdles in the execution of the project in a bid to create gulf between the JI and PTI. He demanded of the Chief Minister KP to implement the project in letter and spirit.
