Islamic countries decide to take tough stance against Trump over Jerusalem

RIYADH -  Islamic countries have concluded that if the United States does not take back its decision to make occupied Jerusalem the capital of Israel, a meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be convened to decide a hard strategy against Donald Trump’s government.

Pakistan has assured its full support to the OIC decisions saying that that the Muslim ummah should adopt a united strategy. OIC can decide about limiting or reviewing diplomatic or trade relations jointly with US in its next meeting.

This consultation was not made part of the joint communique but of the future strategy of OIC. It took place among important Islamic countries in Istanbul, Turkey.

Important diplomatic sources privy of the development told that OIC has adopted the policy of ‘watch and wait’ for now. After its meeting the OIC is waiting as to what policy UN security council adopts on the recent announcement by the US president Donald Trump and if it becomes successful in solving the problem.

In case of the failure of the UN strategy, OIC will again hold a meeting to decide about its future strategy. The important Islamic countries decided in their meeting held recently that organization for Islamic countries will run an international campaign against recent US announcement and to make Jerusalem the capital of Palestine.

It will aim to convince the international community to increase diplomatic and other pressure on US President Donald Trump to take back his announcement of making the occupied Jerusalem the capital of Israel.

The OIC member countries have demanded that the Security Council of the United Nations must play its role to solve the issue.

The important sources at the federal capital privy to the issue said that the said OIC meeting was extraordinary. The meeting reviewed the effects of the US decision. The important countries which are part of OIC agreed that if UN did not play a coordinated role in this issue, another meeting will be held to decide the strategy. They conclusively decided that the heads of all the Islamic countries should attend the next meeting.
