Islamabad Police arrests drug gang linked with educational institutions

ISLAMABAD: Police authorities in the federal capital have claimed to have rounded up four people over alleged drug selling to students of schools and colleges during an operation conducted here.

As per police reports, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) conducted an operation in Sector G-9 and Serai Kharbooza and arrested the accused.

Moreover, authorities recovered heroin and 119 drug pills from the detainees possession, reports added. All four suspects belonged to Islamabad and were involved in selling drugs to schools and colleges students.

Islamabad police have been actively conducting operations against drug peddlers in the federal capital.

The government has conducted 14 operations after 95 cases of drug selling were lodged in the past three months.

During the operations, the authorities confiscated about 29,723 grammes of hashish and 1,655 grammes of heroin.
