Iran fires Russian made S-300 missile defence system

ISLAMABAD: Iran has successfully test-fired a sophisticated Russian-made air defence system.
Russia delivered the S-300 system to Iran in 2016, nearly 10 years after the initial contract had been signed.
According to reports, the delivery had been held up by international sanctions over Iran's nuclear programme, the sanctions were lifted last year under terms of Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers.
