Indian PM Narendra Modi to visit multiple countries next week

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commence a tour of multiple countries including Afghanistan, Qatar, Switzerland, US and Mexico next week.

 

Sources claimed that Modi will first visit Afghanistan on June 4 where he will inaugurate Salma Dam in Heart which is funded by India.

 

Later he will set off to Qatar on June 5 to hold talks on bilateral ties with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

This will be first visit of Indian PM since 2008.

 

Sources claimed that the next stop will be Switzerland where Modi will raise concerns about black money and discuss bilateral issues and interests with the President of Swiss Confederation Johann Schneider-Ammann.

 

Later, Modi will stay in US on June 7 and 8 and will discuss defence, security and energy cooperation with US President Barack Obama.

 

The last stop of Modi will be at Mexico where he will hold talks with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto on different issues.

 

“The main objective of the forthcoming visit of prime minister would be to carry forward the momentum in our bilateral relations and discuss cooperation in areas such as space, energy, agriculture and science and technology among others,” the statement said.
