Indian must stop bragging about Jamhooriyat, insaniyat: Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in occupied Kashmir, has asked India to stop bragging about `Jamhooriyat and Insaniyat' (democracy and humanity) as its Army has crossed all limits of humanity by tying a youth to the front of its vehicle as a human shield in Badgam district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, while addressing the Hurriyet activists and others, who had assembled at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar, said, "I read in today's newspapers, that Farooq Ahmed Shalbaf, who had cast his vote at 8 am on April 9, had gone to mourn the death of his relative. He was stopped, beaten and later tied to the army jeep and paraded through dozens of villages of Badgam district from 10 am to 7 pm."
Gilani said, "For hours together, Farooq was paraded through various villages with his hands tied with a rope. He was used as a human shield by the army. India's political leadership raises slogans of Jhamooriyat (democracy), Insaniyat (humanity) and Kashmiriyat, but fact is that all these slogans are a hoax,"
Gilani said.
He said, "For the past 70 years New Delhi has been raising these slogans, but time has proved that it has never respected any of these slogans. The fact remains that people of Kashmir want freedom." (APP)
