Indian atrocities eye-opener for world: Mirwaiz forum

ISLAMABAD: The Hurriyat forum-led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Indian Occupied Kashmir has said that the use of military might to crush the genuine struggle of Kashmiri people serves as an eye-opener for the international community as well as global human rights watchdogs believing in democracy.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a Hurriyat forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the continued house arrest of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the fresh wave of atrocities unleashed by Indian forces on Kashmiri people.

The spokesman also denounced the arrest of family members of prominent liberation leader, Syed Salahuddin by India’s National Investigation Agency, sending summons to rest of the family members and calling them to New Delhi for questioning as political vendetta. He said harassing family members by NIA in the name of questions deserves all forms of condemnations.

“The grandson of Salahuddin is a student and summoning him to New Delhi will negatively affect his educational career,” he added.

Meanwhile, addressing the delegations from Pulwama, Kakapora, Sambooara and other areas, Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza expressed solidarity with the families of Kashmiri detainees languishing in different jails. “By using military might, the genuine and sacred movements can’t be muzzled.

Kashmiris are fighting for right to self-determination and priceless sacrifices have been given by the people of Kashmir,” he added.
