SRINAGAR: Indian Army soldiers martyred four men during a two-day gun battle near the Line of Control, officials said on Monday.
Police claimed civilians tipped them off on Saturday about the movement of armed people near the LoC, prompting a search.
Three of the suspects were killed on Sunday at different locations, including a mosque, a police statement alleged. Indian army spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said on Monday that a fourth man was killed during the continuing search operation in the area.
Four citizens and a soldier were wounded during the shootouts.
