ICC refuses to send World XI to Pakistan due security concerns

KARACHI – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan has on Wednesday said that Pakistan will not be hosting the World-XI side in September as International Cricket Council (ICC) refused to send its security team to Karachi due to security concerns.

Holding a press conference at National Stadium in Karachi, Khan said that one out of the three matches with World-XI had to be played in Karachi but ICC refused to send its security team there. He hoped that some matches of Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) 2018 edition will be played in Karachi so that international cricket may be restored in the city.

PCB Chairman said that Bangladesh has been told to come to Pakistan for Test series. He added that Pakistan was the biggest loser in the Big-3 arrangement and the legislation to terminate this system will be passed in June.
