Hydel Generation in Pakistan: 13 dams under construction in country

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Thirteen dams are under construction in various parts of the country for water storage and cheap hydel generation.
According to Radio Pakistan, as many as thirteen big and small dams are under construction in various parts of the country aimed at water storage and cheap hydel generation.
Some of these dams included are Nai Gaj Dam (Sindh), Kurrram Tangi Dam (FATA), Diamer Basha (GB), Ghabir Dam (Chakwal), small dams in Sindh, Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sanam, Palai and Kundal dams.
They said these dams were at various stages of development.
Meanwhile, Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved construction of 100 small dams in Balochistan with an estimated cost of 7829.874 million rupees during the current fiscal year.
