How Imran Khan reacted over Jehangir Tareen disqualification

ISLAMABAD - Imran Khan said the party will submit a review petition after the Supreme Court disqualified Jehangir Tareen in a verdict announced on Friday.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Imran said his party accepts the decision of the apex court but 'are saddened over Jehangir Tareen's disqualification'.

'(The) case rested with the Supreme Court for one year. They have received all the evidences and money trails,' he added.

'I thank Almighty Allah. Whatever I had earned as a cricketer I brought to this country.'

The Supreme Court Friday dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman  Imran Khan paving the way for the former cricketer to continue his political career.

The apex court in its verdict disqualified Imran's aide  Jehangir Tareen, saying he has been barred from politics under Article 62 (1) (f) of the constitution, which sets the precondition for a lawmaker to be 'sadiq and ameen' (truthful and honest).

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, while announcing the 250-page verdict, said  Imran Khan submitted all the information asked of him.
