Govt shifts power generation from furnace oil to gas as cheaper option: PM

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says CPEC great opportunity for Pakistan, needs to be fully exploited to achieve its fullest potential.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that Kashmir is a long standing issue and needs to be resolved in line with the UN resolutions.

Talking to a group of students in Islamabad, he said China Pakistan Economic Corridor is a great opportunity for Pakistan and needs to be fully exploited to achieve its fullest potential.

The Prime Minister said ties with China are based on historical relations, which were far beyond the economic relations.

Responding a question, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the government is working diligently to address the issue of FATA reforms.

He said a 10-year budget is being formulated for the people of FATA.

About energy issue, the Prime Minister said the government has shifted dependence from furnace oil to gas for power generation as it was a much cheaper option.
