Golan Heights are forever part of Israel: Netanyahu

JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Golan Heights are forever part of Israel.

 

Netanyahu was speaking at the first ever cabinet meeting held on Golan.

 

Netanyahu said “I chose to hold this special government meeting in the Golan Heights to send a clear message. The Golan Heights will forever remain in Israel’s hands.”

 

Netanyahu claimed that Syrian government used it for military and warfare purposes for 19 years but Israel developed the area with agriculture and tourism sector and Israel used it for peace since its captured 49 years ago.

 

Netanyahu claimed that Golan’s population is rapidly growing and it will continue to grow as more people will join it.

 

Netanyahu vowed to keep supporting development projects in Golan and also urged the international community to recognize Golan as an integral part of Israel.

 

Golan Heights were captured by Israel in 1967 and annexed in 1981 but International community never accepted it.
