France approves an increase of nearly two billion Euros in its defence spending for next year

France  has approved an increase of nearly two billion euros in its defence spending for next year, reversing the cuts in the current year defence budget.

The approval was given by the French National Assembly in Paris, raising the total defence budget of the country to 32.4 billion euros.

A large chunk of the budget will be spent on renewing military transporters, fighter jets and other equipment used in anti-terror operations in West Africa and the Middle East.
