FIA officials investigating MQM founder receive life threats

KARACHI – Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) banking circle has been investigating the money laundering charges against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder and other leaders. But now they have started receiving threatening calls from foreign numbers.

According to sources, FIA officials have been receiving threatening calls from foreign Ids and unrecognisable numbers. It is believed that these calls may have been made from South Africa and other countries while the motive could be to influence the investigations.

FIA has already declared MQM founder a fugitive in the case while investigations continue against deputy mayor Arshad Vohra and MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui.

The sources in FIA told that record is being obtained from Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF), Sun Charity and Nazir Hussain University as well as from various banks.
