Federal-Sindh governments still at loggerheads over IG Sindh issue

KARACHI: Federal and Sindh government have locked horns with each other over the appointment of the new inspector general (IG) of Sindh police. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah has assured the interim IG Abdul Majeed Dasti of complete cooperation, reported Dunya News.

Sindh government has already issued the notification of AD Khawaja’s removal as Sindh IG but the federal government hasn’t issued any such notice as yet. AD Khawaja hasn’t yet left the charge as IG while Abdul Majeed Dasti has already taken the charge. Sindh police’s officers and officials have no idea which IG should they report to.

On the other hand, arrangements were made for the current Sindh IG Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti’s visit to Quaid’s tomb but the officials kept waiting for him from 6 am till 11 am but he didn’t come.

Instead, he called a meeting at central police head office where he discussed changes in Sindh police, the current situation in the province and the security arrangements for Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary.
