FATA legislators threaten federal government

ISLAMABAD: Federal Government dropped the FATA reforms package from the agenda of the federal cabinet meeting for reasons unknown.
As a result the Natio¬nal Assembly on Tuesday saw a great deal of indignation over the federal cabinet’s decision to drop the Fata reforms package from the agenda of its latest meeting, with tribal lawmakers threatening agitation if their deadline for the package’s approval is not met.
Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle criticised the move in the harshest terms, with Fata MNAs making impassioned appeals to keep the tribal regions from turning into “another Kashmir”.
