ECP summons details of PTI’s intra-party election

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Wednesday summoned details of intra-party election of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in petition seeking to declare PTI’s intra-party election null and void.

A five-member bench of the ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza Khan heard the petition seeking to declare PTI’s intra-party election null and void.

During the proceedings, the CEC asked who was presenting the PTI to which the applicant said that no representative of the PTI appeared before the ECP tribunal.

The ECP summoned the result sheet of the Intra party election, nomination papers of candidates took party in the elections and details of the panel until December 18.

The tribunal later adjourned December 18.

Former PTI’s Swab chapter general secretary Yousaf Ali had filed the petition in the ECP seeking to declare the election null and void on the grounds that the polling process had violated the party’s constitution.
