India (BCCI) has stated that it had not agreed to play any bilateral series with Pakistan, Samaa reported on Monday.
Speaking to Indian media, BCCI's Acting Secretary Amitabh Chaudhry said that there was no agreement between the two countries for a bilateral cricket series between the two cricket loving countries.
He added that the Indian cricket board needs its government's permission for playing the series against Pakistan.
"There can be no developments regarding the matter unless the government gives the green signal," Chaudhry said.
The statements made by the acting secretary raise questions over the legal notice sent to BCCI by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
PCB had sent a notice for breaching the agreement executed between PCB and BCCI in respect of the Future Tour Programme for the period 2014-2023.
