Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor held an important press conference today and announced the launching of a new operation against the terrorist hideouts.

DG ISPR said that Pakistan and Afghanistan will launch a coordinated operation on both sides of the border.

Khyber 4 is part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasad, which will aim at targeting terrorist hideouts in what he called "the most critical area in FATA".

DG ISPR said, "A division-plus size force will take part in the operation, secure the int border, eliminate hideouts, and complete physical hold on Khyber Agency."

Regarding the ongoing phase-1 of fencing the Pak- Afghan border, he informed the media that on average there was a fort or check post every 1.5 kilometres.

Maj Gen Ghafoor assured that during the coordinated efforts between Afghanistan and Pakistan, "There will never be any foreign boots on our ground."

He gave a country-wide breakdown of the operations taken as part of Operation Raddul Fasaad (RuF). He claimed that the security situation across Pakistan has improved since RuF has been launched.
