Defense Committee to discuss Pak-Afghan border situation, PAF Bill

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Defence has been rescheduled to meet here on Monday, April 17 to discuss the Pakistan Air Force (Amendment) Bill 2017 and Pakistan-Afghanistan Border situation.

The committee was scheduled to meet here on April 10, Monday however it was rescheduled to meet on April 17, according to Senate notification issue here.

According to the notification the committee would also take up for discussion the calling attention notice regarding termination of services of 21 Trainee Apprentices (BPS-07) from Survey Training Institute under the Survey of Pakistan.

In addition, the committee would review budget allocated and its utilization by the Ministry of Defence during first six months of the Financial Year 2016-17.

Allotment of agriculture lands to retired military officers and post-retirement benefit would also come up to discussion.

The agenda of the meeting also includes progress in the implementation of report/recommendations made by DEFCOM in the petition of residents of Khawazakhela, Swat bearing on the setting up of proposed cantonment. (APP)
