Syrian Forces just hours away from their biggest victory against ISIS










DAMASCUS: Syrian Forces are just hours away from their biggest victory against ISIS to retake ancient Palmyra.

 

Syrian forces have advanced to the centre of Tadmur city and achieved significant gains.

 

The operation was launched earlier this month with the coalition of Russian forces.

 

Russian forces have launched more than 140 airstrikes since the beginning to counter ISIS.

 

Palmyra is one of the archeological site of the world which suffered a heavy loss since May last year.

 

ISIS has destroyed many Historical Temples in the state.

 

ISIS has placed booby traps throughout the ancient ruins of Palmyra to slow down the movement of Syrian troops.

 

Iraqi forces have also launched coalition with US troops to retake Mosul from ISIS.

 


UK based monitoring group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed that Syrian forces have  reached in the residential area of hotel district and advancing slowly as ISIS has planted mines on the way.
