Curfew & restrictions adversely affecting education in IOK

ISLAMABAD: A survey has revealed that restrictions and curfews imposed by the puppet authorities, in Indian occupied Kashmir, had an adverse impact on education during the mass uprising of 2016.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the survey titled "Education and unrest in Kashmir a way forward" was released by a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Chinar International, in Srinagar. As per the research report, around 67 percent students attributed the adverse impact on education to the restrictions and curfew which were imposed by the puppet authorities in occupied Kashmir during the uprising. However, only 9 percent students blamed stone pelting and 22 percent blamed hartals for affecting education.
The study has been compiled after getting feedback from students in all the 10 districts of the Kashmir Valley which witnessed participation of more than 2,000 students and over 500 parents.
As per the study released by Chinar International for public consultation, around 41.7 percent students have stated that they observed strike to highlight their political issues while as 19.9 percent have responded saying that they observed shutdown to follow the decision of the majority in occupied Kashmir.
