CPEC summit and Expo: AJK PM address

MIRPUR (AJK) (APP): AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Tuesday termed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) gigantic project, a mile stone in development and prosperity of Pakistan.

"The mega China Pakistan Economic Corridor will usher in a new exceptional era of progress and prosperity in the region as through this project the Central Asia and Middle East countries would also be amongst the beneficiaries besides both brotherly countries of China and Pakistan", Farooq Haider said while addressing the 2nd Session of the two-day China Pakistan Economic Corridor Summit and Expo in the capital town on Tuesday, an AJK government's statement later released to the media here Tuesday said.

The AJK Prime Minister said that the country was moving rapid progress and prosperity under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

He said the CPEC would not only serve as a `game-changer' for Pakistan, but also a `fate-changer' for entire region by helping it rid of economic deprivation and attain peace and prosperity.

The PM said that Kashmiris believed in economic and democratic stability of Pakistan because a democratic and economically stabled Pakistan could more helpful to their freedom struggle.

The PM said the project would not only improve Pakistan's own infrastructure but would also provide it the much needed know-how, knowledge and expertise in new technologies.

He said CPEC would not only create a strong overland link between Pakistan and China but also provide an opportunity to strengthen Pakistan's own inland transportation and logistics.

The event was attended by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, GB CM Hafiz Hafeezullah, Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong, Pakistan's ambassador to China Masood Khalid, Balochistan Assembly Speaker Raheela Durrani, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Abdur Rauf Alam, parliamentarians and leading industrialists.
