CPEC: Chinese Counsel General calls on Governor Sindh

KARACHI (APP): China's Consul General Ma Yaou called on Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan here on Thursday and discussed in detail Pak-China bilateral relations, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, joint investment and other issues of mutual interest.

The Sindh Governor said China is a time-tested and all-weather friend of Pakistan.

He said China's investment in energy sector will overcome power shortages, said a press release issued from Governor House here on Thursday.

Dr. Ishratul Ebad said CPEC project will prove a game changer for Pakistan and herald a new era of prosperity for the country.

He said that this project will help in the establishment of industrial zones, overcoming power shortages and provide fast travel facilities. The Governor said that the CPEC project will be completed by 2018.

He said that since the launch of CPEC project Pakistan's enemies started conspiracies to sabotage it, but the leaders of the two countries are committed to complete the project at all costs.

China's Consul General Ma Yaou told the Governor that CPEC project is in the larger interest of both countries.

The Consul General said China is taking interest in starting more projects for Pakistan's financial and economic assistance, because a stable, and financially strong Pakistan is in the interest of China.

The Chinese envoy informed that Chinese investors are taking keen interest in investment in power sector, agriculture, infrastructure development, education, health and other sectors in Sindh, especially Karachi.
