Corps Commander meeting summoned by COAS, National security issues to be discussed

RAWALPINDI – Corps Commander meeting has been summoned by the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javaid Bajwa on the issue of the national security and borders situation.

It was reported in media that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has called a meeting of Corps Commanders in next week to discuss border situation and other important issues.

Army will hold consultation over ongoing border situation along Afghanistan, besides reviewing the progress on operation Raddul Fassad and national security.

Earlier this month, Afghan forces had opened fire along border areas killing ten Pakistani civilians and injured 42 others. Pakistan forces gave a befitting response and claimed to have killed over fifty Afghan soldiers. The situation between both countries has remained stiff ever since the attack.

The situation at Line of Control is also not normalise due to unprovoked firing by the Indian forces on innocent citizens of Kashmir.

The issue of suspending the execution of India spy Kulbhushan Jadev by the International Court of Justice would be made part of the core commanders’’ conference.
