COAS orders to investigate death of Aftab Ahmad

KARACHI: While taking notice of the death of Aftab Ahmad, coordinator of Farooq Sattar in Rangers custody, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has ordered to investigate the matter.
As per ISPR, Army Chief General Raheel has ordered to probe into the death of Aftab Ahmad in Rangers custody saying that facts should be brought before the nation in this regard while General Raheel has also directed to fulfill all the requirements of justice in this case.
On the other hand, DG Rangers Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar has formed a high level committee to investigate the matter while investigation team is being led by Rangers Sector Commander who would present report to DG Rangers after completion of investigation.
It is also worthy to mention here that Farooq Sattar's Coordinator Aftab Ahmad was handed over to Rangers for 90 days remand before couple of days ago by the Court but he died in the custody of Rangers. MQM has demanded to investigate the reasons behind his death in a high level committee.
