COAS orders crack down against militants across Punjab without any discrimination

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif chaired a high level security meeting here at Monday in GHQ, Rawalpindi and decided to start operation against terrorists in Punjab.
According to ISPR, a high level security meeting was held under the chairmanship of Army Chief to review the law and order situation in the country. The meeting also reviewed the breakthrough in investigation of Lahore Blast as well as intelligence base operations conducted against terrorists in Punjab.
The meeting decided to launch Army operation in Punjab against terrorists and their facilitators while Army Chief will himself lead this operations.
Intelligence agencies and Rangers will cooperate with Pak Army in this operation.
During the meeting, Army Chief was briefed by officers that operation has been launched to find out the responsibles of Lahore blast while 5 operations in Lahore and Faisalabad have been conducted by Pak Army and Rangers along with intelligence agencies and several suspected terrorists and their facilitators have been detained in these operations.
Officials also informed Army Chief that huge cache of arms and ammunitions were also recovered from the accused during operations.
