COAS General Qamar Bajwa speaks over the Panama case for the first time

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army has no role in Panama Case against the ruling Sharif family, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa affirmed on Monday, saying it comes under the jurisdiction of the country’s courts.

Talking to a delegation of Defence committees from Senate and National Assembly on Monday, the army chief shared that he congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the victory of Kalsoon Nawaz in Sunday’s by-election in Lahore’s NA-120 constituency. 

He added that he holds good relations with the former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, and his successor Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

He further said “people can say or think whatever they want”, according to Geo News.

During a session with the COAS, the lawmakers were given a detailed briefing on the evolving security situation, including the situation on the country’s borders.

The delegation was led by Senator Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qayyum, and also laid a wreath at the Martyr’s monument,
said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
