China unveils official response over Palestine, OIC summit over Jerusalem

BEIJING - China has called for early resumption of dialogue between Israel and Palestine for a comprehensive and fair resolution to the Palestinian issue.
In a statement, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Lu Kang, while commenting on the recently held OIC summit in Turkey, said that China understands the Islamic countries' concern about the status of Jerusalem.
The Spokesperson called for a resolution to the Palestine issue in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and international consensus.
He said China supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty on the basis of the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
