China to invest $9 billion in K-Electric

Chairman Shanghai Electric Power Company Yundan Wang along with a delegation called on Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz in Islamabad on Friday.

During the meeting, matters concerning the transition of Karachi Electric to new prospective company came under discussion.

The delegation briefed the Minister about their investment plan to revitalize Karachi Electric.

Chairman Yundan on this occasion said that the group has the plan to invest nine billion dollars in KE by 2030 to upgrade transmission and generation capacity of the Company.

He hoped that the plan would bring positive changes in the Company as service provider in power sector.

Minister Daniyal Aziz appreciated the initiative of the group and described it acknowledgement for the investment friendly policies of the government.
