CDWP approves 17 projects worth Rs 99 billion

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved Thursday various significant projects under transport and communication sector, energy, water resources, physical planning and agriculture and food.
Overall, the CDWP approved 17 projects worth Rs 99.4 billion, including five projects costing Rs 93 billion, which were referred to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).
In addition it approved one position paper and cleared 9 projects worth Rs 7.9 billion.
The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Prof Ahsan Iqbal which was attended by senior officers of the provincial governments and ministries concerned.
The CDWP also approved Gwadar-Nawabshah LNG terminal and pipeline project worth of Rs 36 billion.
Prime Minister's Program for construction of 46 New hospitals across country was also approved with a cost of Rs 1.3 billion.
Likewise, the CDWP also approved dualization and improvement of Pindigheb - Kohat Road at a cost of Rs 19.9 billion.
In addition, CDWP also approved construction of infrastructure for Metro Bus from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad International Airport costing Rs 16.8 billion.
